Pulau Seribu (Thousand Islands)


Pulau Seribu (Thousand Islands) is so called as Pulau Seribu literally means a "Thousand Island". However, this island group comprises almost 128 small islands located in the Bay of Jakarta in the Java Sea. Most of these support population and can be reached in about 1 - 2 hours from Marina Ancol by ferry or by chartered board.
The stunning reef systems surrounding Pulau Seribu (Thousand Islands) are home to a wonderful underwater world of a wide variety of colorful fishes, making Pulau Seribu an ideal spot for diving, Snorkeling and fishing.
Of the several islands that are a part of Pulau Seribu (Thousand Islands), there are a few which have been developed for tourism, like Pulau Bidadari, Pulau Ayer, Sepa, Coconut, Pelangi, Bira, Pantara, Kul-kul and Pulau Putri. In these exotic islands, tourists can rest in comfortable cabins located on the golden palm fringed beaches.
The skin divers find the surrounding turquoise waters irresistible for exploring the fascinating marine world filled with a myriad of tropical fish, which live among the multicolored corals.
